League Rules


Rules for each sport are listed below:
 

 

 
Adult Softball

Men's Open

PLAYERS EJECTED
Any player ejected or disqualified must be reinstated by the Athletic Supervisor (Ronald Smith) to be eligible to compete in any division. There will be a $25 reinstatement fee, along with one (1) game suspension.

PLAYERS FIGHTING
Any player(s) that engage in a fight during the Open or Church softball league will be ejected for the rest of the season. That player or players ejected will not receive a refund and will not be able to participate in any other programs until they talk to the Superintendent of Athletics (Darryl Hopkins). There will be a $25 reinstatement fee before they can participate in any other programs.

JERSEYS
Jerseys of similar color are recommended for the league. It will not be mandatory for teams to have jerseys during the regular season game.

HOMERUN LIMIT
Two (2) homerun then an Equalizer for all leagues. Any homerun after the limit will result in an out.

SOFTBALLS
USSSA Classic M Softballs will be mandatory. No other balls will be allowed! All balls must be yellow.

GENERAL RULES
--Starting lineups must be turned in five (5) minutes before the game time or three runs will be spotted to the opposing team.
--There will be one hour and fifteen minute (1 hr. and 15 min.) time limit. No new inning can begin after this time, unless there is a tie. The run rule will be 20 after 3, 15 after 4, and 10 after 5.
--A player must play in at least one regular season game and pay the player contract fee in that division.
--Each team can have up to three 17-year-old players.

Co-Ed

--There will be a no cursing policy in effect. Anyone caught cursing during a game will be asked to leave.

Adult Flag Football

All rules not covered here can be found on the website link above.

A game consists of two (2) twenty- two (22) minutes halves. The clock will run continuously for the first twenty (20) minutes in both halves. A regulation clock will be used the last two (2) minutes of each half.

There will be no kick-off. The ball will be placed on the twenty (20) yard line to start the first and second halves and after each touchdown.

POINTS
Touchdown = 6 points
Extra Points = 1 point from the three (3) yard line
Extra Points = 2 points from the ten (10) yard line
Extra Points = 3 points from the twenty (20) yard line

Once a team makes a decision on going for one or two, the only way they can change their decision is to take a time out.

FIELD
The field will be marked off in four (4) – twenty (20) yard zones with ten (10) yard end zones. In order to get a first down, you have to reach the next zone line. (A down marker will be placed at the next zone line to gain).

EQUIPMENT-FOOTBALLS
Teams will use their own football. It must be an approved adult football. Teams keep up with their ball while they are in their offensive series (carry your ball to your huddle).

PANTS/SHORTS
Each player must wear pants or shorts which do not have any belt loops or pockets.

JERSEY
• Each team must have jerseys that are similar in color.
• Players of opposing teams must wear contrasting colored jerseys.
• Jerseys must be either:
A) Long enough so they remain tucked in the pants/shorts during the down.
B) Shorts long enough so there is a minimum of 4” from the bottom of the jersey to the player’s waistline. FLAG BELT Each player must wear a flag belt at the waistline with two (2) flags running down the hips and one (1) down the back.

GENERAL RULES
• Each team will get two (2) time-outs per half, they do not carry over.
• Offense and defense has maximum of seven (7) players on each side of the ball and a minimum of five (5) players.
• There will be two (2) ball markers – one for the offense and one for the defense.
• The defense will be one (1) yard off the ball.
• There are no fumbles, once the ball touches the ground it is dead.

PLAYER’S ROSTERS
Team rosters with all players listed are due at your first game. For players to be eligible for the end of the year tournament, they have to be on the roster and have to be paid and have a signed player contract before a time that will be determined once the league schedules are out.

MERCY RULE
A game will be called if any team is behind by thirty (30) points or more with three minutes or less or twenty (20) points or more with two (2) minutes or less remaining in the game.

FLAG BELT
If anyone’s flag belt breaks loose or comes off without anyone pulling it, that player must be tagged by a defensive player with one hand anywhere on the body.

EXTRA POINTS
The defensive team can score three (3) points on returned extra point.

Adult Basketball

Men's Open/Industrial League

All rules not covered here follow GHSA basketball rules.

ENTRY FEE
All entry fees must be paid by the first game. NO exceptions unless there is approval by the Superintendent of Athletics (Darryl Hopkins). If your entry fee is not paid in full you will be taken off the schedule.

PLAYERS EJECTED
Any player ejected or disqualified must be reinstated by the Athletic Supervisor (Ronald Smith) to be eligible to compete in any division. There will be a $25 reinstatement fee, along with one (1) game suspension.

PLAYERS FIGHTING
Any player(s) that engage in a fight during the Open or Church basketball league will be ejected for the rest of the season. That player or players ejected will not receive a refund and will not be able to participate in any other programs until they talk to the Superintendent of Athletics (Darryl Hopkins). There will be a $25 reinstatement fee before they can participate in any other programs.

JERSEYS
Jerseys of similar color are mandatory for the league by the start of your first regular season game.

GENERAL RULES
--All games consist of two 20-minute halves, with the clock running the first 18-minutes of each half.
--Each team can have up to three 17-year-old players.

MERCY RULE
If a team is winning by 20 points at two, or 30 points at three minutes remaining, the game will be terminated.
