We
maintain and operate eight recreation areas encompassing more
than 213 acres. The department also oversees 28 buildings on these
parks. Along with these facilities,
the department has a good relationship with both the Bulloch
County Board of Education and Georgia
Southern University, thus allowing the department to use their
facilities at non peak times and visa-versa.
Included
in these parks are 38 athletic fields, 10 tennis courts, 2 swimming
pools, 11 outdoor basketball
courts, walking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds and picnic pavilions.
Mill
Creek Regional Park, opened in 1993, is a state-of-the-art
recreational complex which was funded through a 1% Special Purpose
Local Option Sales Tax. Mill Creek, 1996 USSSA Complex of the
Year, has played host to more than 200 tournaments including four
national tournaments.

and adults. Community Recreation includes the Afterschool

3.Being geographically accessible.
4.Being economically feasible.
5.Networking with community agencies and other recreation providers
and schools.
