Aquatics Maintenance worker
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Aquatic Coordinator this position is responsible for facility and pool maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Comply with all departmental policies and procedures
- Clean pools, facilities, and grounds according to schedule or as needed.
- Check chemicals.
- Ensure proper water chemistry by adding chemicals as directed.
- Maintain daily log sheets on all maintenance and water chemistry.
- Report all issues or hazardous conditions, immediately, to the Aquatics Coordinator.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of record keeping.
- Able to work with tools and repair equipment.
- Able to work unsupervised to complete necessary tasks.
- Must be proficient at math and problem solving skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be 16 years of age. Prior experience working with hand held lawn equipment and pool cleaning equipment preferred, but not necessary.

Splash Attendant
Job Summary:
This is a general multipurpose position that requires individuals to enforce rules and regulations on the park features and to provide general guest services throughout the park. Splash attendants will be required to perform jobs such as, but not limited to monitoring the bottom of slide entry to enforce height requirements, monitor splash playground to ensure guest safety, help maintain cleanliness of the park, and assist lifeguard staff where needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
20% Comply with all departmental policies and procedures
25% Monitor playground features and slide entries
25% Perform cleaning duties as assigned
20% Assist lifeguards where needed to enforce rules and ensure guest safety
5% Report all issues or hazardous conditions, immediately, to supervisors.

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Aquatics Program Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing the SBCS swim team program.
To include program promotion, coordinating the scheduling of practices and swim meets, supervision of assistant coaches, correspondence with parents and parent board, and developing monthly calendars and newsletters.
Responsibilities and Duties
10% Complies with all department policies and procedures
20% Supervises instruction of the Swim Team program and coordinates schedule of assistant coaches
15% Assist with promotion and evaluation of the Swim Team program
10% Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating assistant coaches
20% Plans and coordinates program activities including practices and meets
10% Serves as a substitute Swim Team instructor for program if needed
10% Prepares written correspondence and maintains up to date records on swimmers
5% Performs other related duties as assigned.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of departmental goals, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of aquatics and swim team program
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Skill in oral and written communication

Supervisory Controls:
This position reports directly to the Aquatics program supervisor and in their absence, the Aquatics Coordinator.
Supervisory Duties:
This position is responsible for the supervision of Assistant Swim Team Coaches.
Education and Experience
The following standards express the minimum background of training and experience desirable as evidence of an applicant's ability to qualify for this position. Other training or experience, if evaluated as equivalents, may qualify an applicant for this position.
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of College or equivalent. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the objectives and functions of a swim team program, usually interpreted to require a minimum of 3 years of experience as a swim team coach.
Licenses/ Certification:
A valid drivers license issued by the State of Georgia.
American RedCross Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certifications
Water Safety Instructor Certification
United States Swimming Coaches Certification

Splash in the Boro Cashier / Server / Cook
JOB SUMMARY:
These special shift, part-time employees assist with the implementation of the operations of the concessions. They help offer visitors to the parks (Mill Creek Regional and Splash in the Boro) a food service that enables the visitor not to have to go outside the park for meals. The incumbent must exemplify proper conduct, fairness, promptness, and appearance in job performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 16 years of age
- Some knowledge of food and drink concessions
- Ability to deal with the public and co-workers in a professional manner
- Ability to give fast, friendly, and accurate service to customers
- Ability to understand function of point of sale system and to make correct change
- Capacity to learn all areas of concessions
- Flexibility in hours of work
- Good health, enthusiasm, maturity, and moral character
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily set up and preparation work
- Close concessions based on flexible work hours
- Wait on customers in a cheerful manner
- Place food orders quickly and correctly

Irrigation Technician
Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for a Full-Time Irrigation Technician. This person will be responsible for routine maintenance, repairing leaks, design and installation of new systems. Must be able to operate walk behind trenchers, riding trenchers, tractor, backhoe, dump truck, etc. The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Commercial drivers license is a plus with the ability to obtain and maintain license if needed. Computer skills are a must. Salary will DOQ.
